With daylight savings time around the corner, it finally feels like fall is in full swing. Not only have the temperatures dropped to a comfortable, cool crispness, but the earlier setting sun reflects the beautiful colors of the changing leaves to reveal nature in harmony. For those of us inhibited by the stiff urban landscapes we call home, or for those lucky enough to live in a climate that rarely fluctuates (we’re looking at you, Los Angeles), apple orchards, fall foliage and brisk air are distances away. Not only that, but the experience of basking in such delight is very much intangible. It’s not the apple that we yearn for – we can pick that up at any local market – it’s the colors, smells and goings-on around you that make apple picking an activity only fit for harvest time. So, for those of you with this same nostalgia and longing for autumn moments, look no further than Roberto Coin’s guide to this country’s best towns in which to celebrate autumn.
