New for 2016 is Roberto Coin’s Symphony collection, which just as its name suggests is orchestral in nature – pun intended. According to the designer, “symphony means “music for my ears”. In this collection, it means a perfect combination of different styles of bangles and rings harmoniously combined together. The more you have, the more you want”.
An array of modern, but delicate bangles, earrings, rings and necklaces were designed with the same logic in mind as music greats like Chopin or Mozart: a single note on its own, when played, is simple and beautiful; but it is not nearly as satisfying or as powerful as the composition of a chord. And a chord – unlike a singular staccato or a high-pitched trill on the piano – gracefully lends itself to that final measure of music.
If you look more closely at Symphony, you will notice similarities between this jewelry and some of Coin’s past hit collections. Included are pieces inspired by the architecture of Golden Gate, the sleek lines of Pois Moi and the hand-etched craftsmanship of Princess.
After seeing such great success with these three collections, it comes as a no shock that what Roberto Coin customers seek is exactly what the designer’s mantra has always been: to design jewelry for every woman. The woman who wears Symphony stacks bangles and layers necklaces according to her style and her mood. That is to say, that the variety this collection offers through its use of combinations means that there is something for every woman in this rhythmical anthology.
