Posted in

Cold weather and holiday season is upon us. This time of year, our social calendars are filled with parties and gatherings. Whether hosting or attending, it is crucial to look your best and never show up empty-handed.  Having a creative, festive cocktail to serve will make you the hit of any party. We teamed up with mixologist Jess Heller, of Traverse City Michigan hot spot, The Little Fleet, and Brooklyn’s Sycamore Bar & Flower Shop, for the perfect cocktail concoctions for all your Fall/Winter gatherings. Perfectly paired with the right attire, you can host and attend your best all season long.

The Fall Gathering

Roasting marshmallows over a crackling bonfire is the quintessential fall gathering, and it is a great way to celebrate the changing leaves and the welcoming of the holiday season.  November is the heart of pumpkin season, so take advantage of the popular flavor served on the rocks in this crafty cocktail below.  This type of gathering is a bit more casual than other holiday festivities, so throw on a cozy poncho over flared jeans and accessorize with a chunky gold bangle. Now you’re fabulously ready to sip and socialize.

Hard Pumpkin – 1 teaspoon pumpkin puree, 2 oz. dark rum, 1/2 oz. demerara simple syrup. Shake and pour over ice in a tall collins glass, top with hard cider.

Whether you are hosting or attending, the right pre-dinner cocktail will surely impress the guest list and help liven up those awkward family moments!  Looking chic, yet staying comfortable is what Thanksgiving is all about.  Pair your favorite sweater dress with OTK boots and a stand-out gold cocktail ring.

Golden Hour – 1 oz Apple Shrub, 2 oz bourbon, 3 Cardomon Bitters

The Winter Soirée

What better way to welcome winter than with an incredible winter soirée?  This one calls for a classic LBD or a bold winter LWD – just make sure it’s season appropriate.  Adorn your look with a blue topaz cocktail ring. It will help to really capture the frosted chill of winter while making a big statement.  Look your best while sipping your favorite cocktail straight up.

Violet Hour – 2 ½ oz vodka, ½ oz lemon juice, ½ oz Creme de Violet & a lemon twist. Served Up in a Martini Glass.

The Holiday Party

Whether it’s Christmas or Hanukkah, let the celebrating begin. ‘Tis the season for holiday parties!  It’s better to overdress than undress for any holiday festivity. Try a festive colored cocktail dress paired with some stand-out jewelry.  The more sparkle the better!  Serve this pretty rendition of a Pisco Sour to really impress your guests. Time to jingle and mingle!

Holiday Haven – 1 egg white, 1 ½ pisco, 1 pear or apple brandy, Splash of grenadine, ½ lemon. Served in a Coup Glass

Lady Rosemary

1/2 oz. Luxardo, 1/2 oz. Chartreuse , 1/2 oz. gin, 1/2 oz Rosemary simple syrup. Shake and top with prosecco in a Flute. Garnish with cranberries.
