A LOVE TOKEN
- January 20, 2022

Love is heavy and light, bright and dark,
hot and cold, sick and healthy, asleep
and awake – it’s everything except what it is!
(William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet)
Love is a set of opposite sensations, incomprehensible
by definition, so much so that one cannot say what love is except through contrast. There are precious places and objects that can evoke the spell of this game of opposites called love, a feeling that, in the words of William Shakespeare, is everything and the opposite of everything.

Like Verona, the city where the playwright set the events of the impossible love between Romeo and Juliet.
Roberto Coin dedicates the Love in Verona collection to the magic of this city, to that contrast of simplicity and complexity that can also be found in his jewels, translated into the incessant dialogue between contemporary and craftsmanship.
Because love is everything and the opposite of everything, yesterday as today.

And this is why you shouldn’t swear by the moon,
as Shakespeare himself taught us, but by something that
does not change, something immutable like a jewel.

The gold of the Love in Verona jewels in its color variations – white, pink, yellow – expresses the facets of love. The white
or black diamonds and the other gems – rubies, emeralds, blue sapphires – tell all the emotions of love, its lights and shadows, its nuances, its ability to be both a curse and a blessing.
The circular shapes evoke infinity, the only conceivable time for true lovers.

Flowers evoke beauty and the decorations of Venetian palaces, also in the wonderful pieces from Roberto Coin’s Princess universe.

They are declined in bold and contemporary volumes
in the Princess Flower collection, and in the Venetian Princess line they reflect with golden tones the hidden mystery of everything that is contained in the most ancient and noble sentiment of all, which cannot be told if not through an immortal promise.
